Sam has 18 years experience working in the Australian seafood industry, working with producers and markets to match products with markets and markets with products.
"When I was studying aquaculture in the early 1990’s, academics and bureaucrats were pushing new species without any consideration of what the market wanted; this was at a time when Australian beef farmers were trying to convince the Japanese to buy their grass fed beef. Now of course we are exporting marbled grain finished beef, the seafood industry can learn from this".

Scott has over ten years experience working in the Australian seafood industry, working as a primary producer, processor, industry representative and most recently in sales and marketing. This diverse whole of chain experience gives Scott a unique understanding of what is required from “pond to plate” to meet the markets needs.
“For seafood producers to be successful, it is critical they are market driven, a lesson I have learnt along the way, and which has driven me to move from production into the sales and marketing of seafood. You can be the best, most efficient seafood grower or catcher in the world, however if you are not producing a product that matches the markets requirements, you will not have a profitable business. Equally important is that end users understand the limitations of producers, and work with them to deliver so that all parties win”.
The seafood industry is full of great people, and it is very satisfying to work with these people from the beginning of a products production process through to its consumption and ultimately getting to be a part of what is a rapidly evolving and exciting industry.
